About the Author

Caleb S. is an author from southern Illinois. He is a father, a husband, an avid reader and lover of all things horror. A career in the Air Force and civilian law enforcement by way of Illinois’s Department of Corrections has molded him into a no-nonsense, motivated writer.

We Are Not Alone is his debut horror collection, published originally independently in 2025 and again under Bitter Root Publishing in 2026 featuring new editing, new content, and a new cover by designer Ruth Anna Evans.

Caleb’s short story This Body is Not a Temple was published in NEED, a horror anthology in which over 400 authors submitted to. TBINAT, according to the curator, was an early favorite. Also in this anthology are stories from authors such as Mark Towse, A.C. Hessenauer, and Clay McLeod Chapman, the Bram Stoker Award winner and author of Ghost Eater, widely considered one of the best horror novels of 2022.
